Undergraduate StudiesAssociate of Science to Bachelor of Applied Science

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (BSAS) degree program is perfect for Florida Associate in Science (AS) graduates looking to earn a bachelor’s degree.

The BSAS degree promotes students' career interests, serves employers' workforce needs, meets university and Florida Board of Education requirements for the baccalaureate degree and, through the block transfer, respects the quality and content of the AS degree.

This program will enhance the students' technical education and experience while providing the broader cognitive skills and perspectives that are associated with baccalaureate education and are relevant in any working environment.

The Bachelor of Science Applied Science (B.S.A.S) degree program is a "capstone" or "inverted transfer" degree offering A.S. degree holders an efficient pathway to a bachelor's degree. The B.S.A.S degree is primarily intended to assist in job progression rather then initial job qualifications, although it may also be of use to those who wish to make mid-career changes.

BSAS Areas of Concentration

USF Sarasota-Manatee offers the BSAS degree program with a
concentration or area of emphasis in the following disciplines:

  • Criminal Justice
  • Early Childhood Development
