Admission
Requirements
Students seeking admission to the Master
of Arts in Teaching (K-6) must: • Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
from a regionally accredited
institution, and • Pass all sections of the General
Knowledge Test or have passing CLAST
scores from before July 1, 2002, and • Meet at least
one of the
following criteria: o Have earned a graduate degree from a
regionally accredited institution. o Have a 3.0 (4.0 scale) or better GPA
in all upper division coursework of the
baccalaureate degree o Have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA on all
college work attempted and a total
verbal plus quantitative GRE score of
1,000 or higher within the last five
years.

Application online 2. Applicants must submit the following
items to USF Sarasota-Manatee Graduate
Admissions Advisor: •
Official transcript(s) of all
undergraduate degree coursework. • Passing scores on General Knowledge
Test (GKT) or CLAST, if taken before
July 1, 2002. (This is an entrance and
exit requirement.)
Florida Teacher Certification Exams,
including GKT •
Personal Statement discussing what you have
been doing in your life recently and what
has prompted you to pursue becoming an
elementary teacher.
• GRE scores, if needed.

Apply for non-degree study to get
started this semester. A maximum of 12
credits from non-degree study may be
transferable to a master's program.
