How to Apply
Admission Requirements:
Students seeking admission to the M.A. in
Elementary Education (K-12) must:
• Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
from a regionally accredited institution,
and
• Hold a elementary education teaching certificate*,
and
• Meet at least one of the following
criteria:
o Have earned a graduate degree from a regionally
accredited institution.
o Have earned a 3.0 (4.0 scale) or better GPA in
all upper division coursework of the
baccalaureate degree.
o Have a total verbal plus quantitative GRE score
of 1,000 or higher within the last
five
years with a 2.5 GPA in all upper division
coursework of the bachelor's degree.
*= Students without a teaching certificate may apply
to the
MAT program. Those with certification
other than elementary education may apply to
MA in Reading Education program.

1. Complete the
USF Graduate Admission
Application online
2. Applicants must submit the following
items to USF Sarasota-Manatee Graduate
Admissions Advisor:
• A copy of teaching certificate.
• Official transcript(s) of all
undergraduate degree coursework.
• GRE scores, if needed.

March 1 for Summer
June 1 for Fall
October 15 for Spring
*Missed the deadline?
Apply for non-degree study to get
started this semester. A maximum of 12
credits from non-degree study may be
