SARASOTA CAMPUS

USF SARASOTA-MANATEE Book Advance Program:

Financial Aid begins disbursing after the drop/add period at the end of the 1st week of classes as funds become available.  Books are generally needed for classes prior to the financial aid disbursement dates.  To assist students eligible for Financial Aid at the Sarasota Campus, USF Sarasota-Manatee and the Campus Bookshop offer to students an optional Book Advance Purchase Program (BAPP).  This program is generally offered during the registration period through the first week of classes up to Friday at 3:00pm.  After the deadline, the purchases are electronically transferred to student accounts and deducted from the financial aid disbursements.

Dates for Fall*:

   Start - Monday, April 7, 2008
   End -   Friday, May 16, 2008 (deadline 3:00 pm)

*BAPP dates and times are tentative and subject to change – based on availability of financial aid information and coordination of computer files between financial aid office with Barnes and Noble.

On-Line Ordering:
For students who cannot make it to the bookstore during regular or extended hours, or for those who do not wish to drive, our webpage is now set up for you to order textbooks on-line.  http://usfsarasota.bkstore.com.  NOTE: For BAPP, please use your USF Student ID #** number in place of the credit card number for payment purposes.

You may be eligible for a Bookstore Authorization through the BAPP program if you are:

  • Degree seeking;

  • Enrolled at least half-time in USF hours; and,

  • Authorized financial aid disbursements that exceed your student account charges by $300 or more,

By choosing to use the BAPP process to purchase your textbooks, your are authorizing your BAPP charges to be paid from any funds disbursed to your student account.

You are responsible for all bookstore charges posted to your account. BAPP charges will be paid each term from your student account, provided your total financial aid exceeds the amount of all other charges against your account (such as; tuition and fees, housing, etc.).

If you are eligible for BAPP, the Office of Financial Aid will send you an e-mail notice approximately four weeks prior to the beginning of the term notifying you of your eligibility.

How Do I Use My BAPP?

  1. Go to one of the bookstore locations (Sarasota campus, Tampa campus, Tampa Health Sciences Center and St. Petersburg campus).*
  2. Go to the textbook sales floor and pick up your books.
  3. Go to the cash register, present your USF Student ID number**, student photo ID card and inform the cashier you wish to use the BAPP.
  4. Walk out with your books!

If I didn't see the  e-mail, how do I check to see if I received the BAPP?

*Students attending the Tampa or St. Petersburg campuses may check with the bookstore on that campus.  Students attending the Lakeland campus should check with the Lakeland Office of Financial Aid.

** IMPORTANT: Your official USF Student ID number is no longer your social security number.  It is a new number assigned by USF.  It can be found on OASIS.  This change is in accordance with USF's policy for "Protection of Personal Identity Information."
