FITNESS CENTER GENERAL
INFORMATION
Location:
The Fitness Center is located on the East
Side of the campus, next to the physical plant. If you are coming
from the South, proceed North on U.S. 41 until you get to General
Spaatz Blvd. (Landmarks: There is a Shell station on your right, and
the airport is there on your right) If you are coming from the
North, then turn left on General Spaatz.
Membership Information:
Current faculty, staff and students of the
University of South Florida and New College may use the facilities
at no cost. USF and New College alumni,
students/staff/faculty of Ringling School of Art, Asolo, and
Ringling Museum are eligible to purchase memberships at a cost of $50.00
per semester, $30.00 for the summer, or $120.00 per
year. Also, spouses of any of the above parties may purchase a
membership at the same rate.
NOTE:
Members may bring in a guest, but that guest must be accompanied
by the member and pay a fee of $2.00. (New College Fitness
Center memberships are not available for the general public.
Fitness Center Policies:
The Fitness Center asks that members and
the campus community respect the posted policies of the Fitness
Center. In particular, we ask that all facility users wear
shirt and shoes, that members not bring children under 18 into the
facility, and that everyone sign in when entering the Fitness
Center.
Pool/Outdoor Facilities
Policies:
*Per university policy, we ask that the
campus community and Fitness Center members refrain from swimming if
a lifeguard is not on duty (and please do not enter the pool
enclosure after closing).
*Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult in the pool.
*No children under 13 are allowed in the hot tub.
*Only students/faculty/staff, their paying guests, or Fitness Center
members and their paying guests are allowed to use any outdoor
Fitness Center facility.
*Please turn off court lights when you are finished with play!
*We respectfully ask that everyone abide by the posted rules on the
pool deck.
Equipment Rental:
The Fitness Waterfront Facility has
camping equipment available for rental with the following
restrictions: Camping Equipment can be checked out at no cost, but is only
available to current USF/Sarasota and New College
students/faculty/staff. During high use times such as spring
break, priority is given to student reservations.
