Faculty Services

Course specific library instruction

We offer general orientation to the library's print and electronic resources as well as customized instruction based on your course curriculum. Scheduling a session can be done by contacting a librarian directly. Requests should be made two weeks in advance so that  librarians can accommodate your preferences.

Interlibrary Loan

Requests for materials owned by other libraries may be made by using ILLIAD, an automated interlibrary loan management system.

Faculty Office Express Delivery Service

All USF Sarasota-Manatee faculty may request that circulating materials from Jane Bancroft Cook Library be delivered to their campus mail drop using the Faculty Office Express Delivery Service. To make a request, complete and submit either the Book/Media Request form or the Article or Book Chapter Request form.

Recommend Items for Purchase

The library encourages faculty to recommend new library materials to support their teaching and research by submitting an online request materials form.

Print and online course reserves

Circulating library materials from any USF Library may be placed on reserve in the Jane Bancroft Cook Library. Requests are made by submitting a Reserve Request Form.

REFWORKS instruction

RefWorks is an online bibliographic management program that allows users to create a personal database of references formatted in a variety of output styles, including APA, MLA, Turabian, and Chicago. Use the research services form for instruction.

Research consultations

Individualized research consultations are available by appointment. Research consultations should be scheduled at least 2 days in advance to allow for adequate preparation time.  Contact a librarian directly or complete a research services form to schedule a consultation.

Remote access to library resources

Remote access to electronic library resources can be gained by authentication. A system is used to sign-on all USF affiliates.
