Services for Students
Borrowing Privileges
Undergraduate students with a valid USF ID may borrow up to 20 items for a loan period of a semester. Graduate students with a valid USF ID may borrow up to 35 items for a loan period of a semester.

Group Study Rooms
There is a group study room available to groups of 3 or more on a first-come, first serve basis in the library.
Individual Study Carrels
Study carrels are available for all registered students and applications are available on the first day of the fall semester. The Library Administration office, LBR 201, is responsible for making carrel assignments which are valid for the entire year contingent upon continuing enrollment.
Interlibrary Loan
Requests for materials owned by other libraries may be made by using ILLIAD, an automated interlibrary loan management system.
Laptop Circulation
Laptops are available at the circulation desk for limited checkout to students with valid USF ID cards.
RefWorks
RefWorks is an online bibliographic management program that allows users to create a personal database of references formatted in a variety of output styles, including APA, MLA, Turabian, and Chicago. For assistance with getting started with RefWorks, use the research services request form.
Remote access to library resources
Remote access to electronic library resources can be gained by authentication. A system is used to sign-on all USF affiliates.
Research Assistance
Individualized research consultations are available by appointment and should be scheduled at least 2 days in advance to allow for adequate preparation time. Complete a research services form to schedule a consultation with a librarian.
