Experienced faculty and academic advisors will give an overview of academics, the application process, and financial aid opportunities at the information sessions. “We are proud to be able to offer this program to prospective students in South Sarasota County,” said Susan Freeman, director of USF Sarasota-Manatee at MCC Venice. “For people who would like to become school leaders, principals, superintendents, or who are entering an administrative career path in a school district, USF’s Educational Leadership program that we offer at MCC Venice will provide a flexible schedule of classes, close to home.” The flexible schedule of the Educational Leadership program will consist of evenings and weekends in five-week and ten-week blocks and will be supplemented by web-enhanced and online courses, making it easier for working professionals to obtain their degree or certificate. The programs, which will not require the GRE for admission, will be offered in a structured cohort system. This means students take the courses together in the same sequences, with a planned maximum number of students per cohort. Located in South Sarasota County at 8000 S. Tamiami Trail, USF Sarasota-Manatee at MCC Venice offers coursework to people in North Port, Port Charlotte, Venice, Englewood and Punta Gorda.
