USF SARASOTA-MANATEE ANNOUNCES EMPLOYEE OF
THE YEAR 2004
(Sarasota, FL, April 12, 2005) – The
University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee announced Chris Rubal as
Employee of the Year 2004. Rubal’s responsibilities include providing
USF students, staff and faculty with excellent service in his job as
Director of the Media Center. Rubal oversees the Media Center staff and
student workers and makes sure the often complex technical needs of the
university’s faculty are met.
Rubal said, “I certainly appreciate the recognition; it’s much easier
when you’re surrounded by good people. I’ve enjoyed working here for the
past two years and look forward to an exciting future with the
university.”
Rubal currently serves on the Web team and Human Resources event
committee. In addition, he was co-chair of Fostering the Infusion of
Technology into Teaching, where he assisted faculty with
technology-based development, which is a way of using computers for
better classroom instruction. Rubal has over 10 years of experience in
creating and delivering content using a variety of emerging
technologies.
Director of Facilities Planning and Technology Hugo Mazzoli said, “Chris
is innovative and such an asset to the Media Center and to USF
Sarasota-Manatee. He is outstanding in working with our faculty.”
Rubal received his Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications from Penn
State University. He recently moved to Florida from California with wife
Lisa and daughter Isabella.

baccalaureate or master’s degree, professional certification, or
