USF SARASOTA-MANATEE RECEIVES TOP AWARD FOR PUBIC RELATIONS CAMPAIGN FROM FLORIDA PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATION

(Sarasota, FL, May 12, 2004) - USF Sarasota-Manatee recently received the prestigious Grand Image award from the West Coast Chapter of the FPRA. USF S-M won the top award in the public relations campaign category. The award was given in recognition for achieving a standard of excellence in public relations in the state of Florida, and for demonstrating the very best example of innovation, implementation and design.

Recognized in the awards ceremony for their contributions to the campaign were David Voss, director of university relations; Susan Blake, USF S-M public affairs coordinator; and Andy Eggebrecht, AE Design Group president and creative director.

The Chapter President of FPRA, Erin McLeod, said, “We are pleased to recognize the excellent public relations initiative in our community through FPRA’s Mirror Image competition. Winners in this local awards program are invited to participate in the Golden Image competition at the state level in August.”

USF S-M launched its branding campaign for 2003-04 with a new logo and positioning slogan. This slogan, Yes, We Are a University Town, along with graphic images was carried though in all the design elements and used along with other key messages in television commercials, billboards, posters, downtown banners and brochures to build brand awareness.
