Partnership announced between the University of South Florida and Keiser University

Sarasota, Florida (September 6, 2007) State Senator Michael Bennett joined the University of South Florida and Keiser University at the announcement of a 2 + 2 articulation agreement--a public private partnership between the two SACS accredited universities--to provide graduates with an Associate of Science degree from Keiser University the opportunity to articulate into the University of South Florida’s Bachelor of Applied Science at the junior level.

“We are pleased to have joined in partnership with Keiser University.  As institutions with congruent goals and mission statements, our cooperative efforts between two complimentary programs - a collaboration which is a testament to our mutual commitment to providing greater educational and workforce opportunities and services for students,” said Dr. Guilford, Vice President of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee.

“As a graduate degree granting institution and SACS accredited since 1991, Keiser University has enjoyed a strong working relationship with the state university system,” stated Belinda Keiser, Vice Chancellor of Community Relations and Student Advancement.  “This 2 + 2 articulation agreement will again provide students another opportunity to pursue baccalaureate degrees with a public state university in majors which are not currently offered by Keiser University.  In light of the state’s current budget deficit, cooperative agreements between public and private regionally accredited institutions will provide increased access and opportunities for students,” added Keiser.

Students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees to enhance their skills and increase their opportunities for promotion and advancement in their careers benefit from such partnerships.

USF Sarasota-Manatee is an upper-level campus for those with an associate's or bachelor's degree interested in pursuing a baccalaureate or master's degree, professional certification, or continuing education credit. The regional campus offers the prestige of a nationally ranked research university with the convenience of a hometown campus, including classes in south Sarasota County at Manatee Community College Venice.
