Book author to teach program on “Living Thin” at USF Sarasota-Manatee
SARASOTA, FL (December 21, 2007) – The holidays are a time of cooler weather, gifts, shopping, family, and perhaps most of all—food. A growing waist line this time of year is not uncommon, and the New Year’s Resolution of many is to lose weight and be healthier.
To jump-start the New Year, the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee has joined with Sylvia Goldman, author of “Living Thin, an Attitude, Not a Diet: Living Young, an Attitude, Not an Age,” to present a six-week seminar entitled “Living Thin” to help people change their habits and their lives.
On January 19 there will be a free information session in Room A203 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at USF Sarasota-Manatee at which the full scope of “Living Thin” will be explained. In order to attend the weekly seminar, a person must attend the session. Subsequent sessions will be held every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to noon for six weeks.
“Living Thin” is a nationally recognized approach to realizing long-term health and well-being. Participants will learn how nutrition, exercise and stress control play a part in their lives and how to make permanent changes in their lifestyles.
Three scholarships will be given to participants under the age of 20 who complete the program to develop more specialized learning opportunities for parents and children.
The cost of the program is $295 per person and $275 for each person within the same family. Registration will be limited to 30 people. For more information, please contact Annette Conard at 941-359-4332 or visit www.sarasota.usf.edu/ce.
