Read-In to Celebrate Literacy During Black History Month

SARASOTA, FL, (January 31, 2006) - Students, faculty, and staff invited are to participate in the 17th annual African-American Read-In on Monday, February 6th, from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jane Bancroft Cook Library at USF Sarasota-Manatee. 

The event, hosted by the Jane Bancroft Cook Library and sponsored by The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the Black Caucus of the NCTE, will feature public readings of African-American writers, including Bell Hooks, Caroline Herron, Nikki Giovanni, Eloise Greenfield, Jacqueline Woodson and Alex Haley.
