USF Sarasota/Manatee offering second Saturday MBA Program for Professionals
Applications due by March 31
(Sarasota, FL, March 1, 2002) – Responding to strong interest from the Sarasota/Manatee community for
more locally offered graduate level courses in business administration,
the University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee is now enrolling students
for its second Saturday MBA Program for Professionals that begins May 18,
2002. “We’ve had a very
significant expression of interest from working individuals as well as
from local businesses that want the best trained workforce to meet the
demands of a challenging economic environment,” says USF
Sarasota/Manatee Campus Chief Academic Officer and Associate Dean Dr.
Peter French. “USF’s
clear advantage is providing the only MBA program in the area
accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
International (AACSB), the premier accrediting agency for business
administration programs.”

In March 2001, 23 students comprising the first
Saturday MBA Program for Professionals class began their study, which is a
30-month, 57-credit program. Classes
are held at the Andersen Technology Park just west of I-75 off Fruitville
Road.
The USF MBA program is built around the case study method
and group projects, along with the more traditional lecture-discussion
approach. The overall intent
of the education is to develop in students the insights and skills
necessary to create integrative solutions to complex business challenges.
The
University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee Campus offers 25 degree
programs for students to complete at the undergraduate and graduate
levels. Currently serving
2,300 students annually, the campus is located at the Sarasota/Manatee
County line on 140 acres, touching the shoreline of Sarasota Bay and
adjacent to the Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport.
It is part of the University of South Florida, the second largest
university in Florida with more than 37,000 students, a Research I
institution, and one of the top 20 largest universities in the United
States.
