Sarasota/Manatee campus offering more
new programs
(Sarasota, FL, December 12, 2001) – Is it time for a career
check? Then it’s time to
enroll for spring 2002 at the University of South Florida
Sarasota/Manatee. Finishing
that undergraduate degree, applying to graduate school, or just taking
courses for professional or personal development, the USF Sarasota/Manatee
campus offers what you need.
Enrollment for spring 2002 is in full swing. The first day of classes is Monday, January 7; registration
deadline is Friday, January 4, for degree seekers and Friday, January 11,
for non-degree seekers. The number of spring term courses scheduled has increased by
12% compared to last spring. For
busy working adults, the newly established “Sunrise Semester” offers
two courses that begin at 7:45 a.m. twice per week, and the “Sunset
Semester” continues with four courses beginning at 4:15 p.m. twice per
week.
First-time programs starting in the spring include:

A
new graduate degree called Educational Leadership that begins in May
2002 to meet the needs of professional educators.

The
second cohort (or group) of graduate level business administration
candidates that will start the Saturday MBA Program for Professionals
on May 18, 2002, at the Andersen Technology Park.
The first group began classes in March of this year.

Three
USF classes being offered on the Manatee Community College Venice
campus, while two MCC classes will take place on the USF campus.

The
first course for the undergraduate degree in Information Technology,
offered through the College of Engineering.
The course is titled "E-commerce" and is an overview
of how electronic commerce has evolved, what it is, how it is being
conducted and managed; and its major
opportunities,
limitations, issues, and risks.

The
University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee Campus offers 25 degree
programs for students to complete at the undergraduate and graduate
levels. Currently serving
2,500 students annually, the campus is located at the Sarasota/Manatee
County line on 140 acres, touching the shoreline of Sarasota Bay and
adjacent to the Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport. It
is part of the University of South Florida, the second largest state
university in the Southeast with more than 37,000 students, a Research I
institution, and one of the top 20 largest universities in the United
States.
