Time for a career check?  Enroll now for spring 2002 at USF.
Sarasota/Manatee campus offering more new programs

(Sarasota, FL, December 12, 2001) – Is it time for a career check?  Then it’s time to enroll for spring 2002 at the University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee.  Finishing that undergraduate degree, applying to graduate school, or just taking courses for professional or personal development, the USF Sarasota/Manatee campus offers what you need.

Enrollment for spring 2002 is in full swing.  The first day of classes is Monday, January 7; registration deadline is Friday, January 4, for degree seekers and Friday, January 11, for non-degree seekers.  The number of spring term courses scheduled has increased by 12% compared to last spring.  For busy working adults, the newly established “Sunrise Semester” offers two courses that begin at 7:45 a.m. twice per week, and the “Sunset Semester” continues with four courses beginning at 4:15 p.m. twice per week.

First-time programs starting in the spring include:

  • A new graduate degree called Educational Leadership that begins in May 2002 to meet the needs of professional educators.

  • The second cohort (or group) of graduate level business administration candidates that will start the Saturday MBA Program for Professionals on May 18, 2002, at the Andersen Technology Park.  The first group began classes in March of this year.

  • Three USF classes being offered on the Manatee Community College Venice campus, while two MCC classes will take place on the USF campus.

  • The first course for the undergraduate degree in Information Technology, offered through the College of Engineering.  The course is titled "E-commerce" and is an overview of how electronic commerce has evolved, what it is, how it is being conducted and managed; and its major opportunities, limitations, issues, and risks.

If you are a degree seeker, please contact a USF Sarasota/Manatee advisor now.  Call 359-4330/4331 for more information.  Stop by the campus for the spring 2002 schedule at the Office of Student Services, Building C, on the bayfront side of the campus.  Click here for degree program details.

The University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee Campus offers 25 degree programs for students to complete at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Currently serving 2,500 students annually, the campus is located at the Sarasota/Manatee County line on 140 acres, touching the shoreline of Sarasota Bay and adjacent to the Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport.  It is part of the University of South Florida, the second largest state university in the Southeast with more than 37,000 students, a Research I institution, and one of the top 20 largest universities in the United States.
