champagne toast and sign unveiling took place the afternoon of Thursday,

$1.425 million in master plan funding by the state legislature (pending
the Governor’s signature) to move forward with a new campus classroom

to steer the future of its services.
Retooled from previous years, the campus’s Community Leadership
Council (CLC) is comprised of 40 leaders from the Sarasota/Manatee County
area who represent at least 15 different industries and sectors, and more
than 25,000 employees.

2002 Commencement generates record number of graduates

2002) – A record number of students graduated from the
University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee campus on Friday, May 10, at
7:00 p.m. More than 200 received diplomas at the master's and
bachelor's levels; approximately 160 participated in the commencement
ceremony. Three students were honored for achieving 4.0, or perfect, grade point averages. Two doctoral candidates received degrees,

Selby
Foundation gives first "Achievers" scholarships to USF students

William G. and Marie Selby Foundation has given its first Selby Achievers
scholarships to benefit USF Sarasota/Manatee undergraduate students.
Five deserving students, each receiving $1,500
per year, were formally recognized recently at a private luncheon
