(Sarasota, FL, March 24, 2005) – The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee recently appointed Anwar Pople as associate director of development.

Pople will be responsible for a private annual fund program for the Sarasota-Manatee campus, in addition to advancing awareness, relationships and private support through alumni and donor research, and cultivation of stewardship and donor services for gifts under $100,000.

“Anwar joins us as our campus is on the threshold of a defining moment,” said Campus CEO Laurey T. Stryker. “He brings valuable experience to the position as we continue our fund-raising initiative for the new Crosley Campus Center as well as for our scholarship programs.”

The native Bahamian earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from USF in Tampa. As a student, he worked with alumni as a tele-fundraiser for the USF Fund Office. Prior to coming to the United States, he worked at Citibank and an offshore investment company. Pople also is recruiting more international students to our university through contacts at his alma mater in the Bahamas. He and his wife, Deena, reside in Bradenton.
