Mission Statement

To enrich the lives of mature adults in Sarasota and Manatee Counties by providing affordable, outstanding educational programs covering a broad spectrum of topics, rich in intellectual stimulation and worthy of being taught at a University.

A key aspect of many of the programs will be class discussion and the Academy for Lifelong Learning will foster social interaction on and off the campus.

The Academy for Lifelong Learning at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee began its 10^th Summer session on June 9, 2008.  We would like to welcome members and prospective members alike to this new year.  The mission of the Academy for Lifelong Learning is to promote a continuous peer teaching/learning experience in an academic environment rich with social interactions and opportunities.  The campus of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee provides the facilities and the context for intergenerational encounters.  Our members have extensive use of the University library, Einstein Bagels, and may purchase books at the Campus Bookstore (Barnes and Noble) at student prices.  The possibilities are many.

Online Registration and credit card payment 

Step 1: Click on the “Registration and Payment” link on the left of the ALL website.  This will take you to our online shopping application.

Step 2: Select whether you would like to sign up for the summer session only ($85) or become a Member Unlimited ($395).  Selection is done by clicking "add to cart."  Click "Continue Shopping."

Step 3: Review the session courses online under Summer 2008 under each of the days courses are offered.  This will display all courses available on each day.  Select the course you want by clicking on the “Add to Cart” button.  This will display a detailed description of the course. Keep in mind that each time you will need to fill in your name and address.

Step 4: Complete the information requested.  You may continue shopping or go to checkout.  It is at this time also you may also decide to make a donation to the academy.  Remember donations go to pay for our special lectures which we offer during the year at no cost.  Double check to make sure your amount is correct.  If so complete your email address once more and select your method of payment. 

Step 5: If you are finished shopping, click on the “Checkout” button and click on the "Continue to Delivery Address" enter you email again and click "Continue".  Select Card Type with the drop down menu and continue the payment process with your credit card.

Step 6: Once you have submitted your order with payment, you will receive an email confirmation of your order.

Step 7: Once we have added you to our course roster and processed your credit card, you will receive an email of your credit card confirmation.  Please keep this confirmation for your records.
