Lifetime Learning in a University Setting

Mission Statement

To enrich the lives of mature adults in Sarasota and Manatee Counties by providing affordable, outstanding educational programs covering a broad spectrum of topics, rich in intellectual stimulation and worthy of being taught at a University.

A key aspect of many of the programs will be class discussion and the Academy for Lifelong Learning will foster social interaction on and off the campus.

The Academy for Lifelong Learning (dba Lifelong Learning Academy) at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee will begin its 10^th Fall Session on October 6th, 2008.  We would like to welcome members and prospective members alike to this new year.  The mission of the Lifelong Learning Academy is “to enrich the lives of mature adults in Sarasota and Manatee Counties by providing affordable, outstanding educational programs covering a broad spectrum of topics, rich in intellectual stimulation and worthy of being taught at a university. A key aspect of many of the programs will be class discussion, and the Lifelong Learning Academy at USF Sarasota-Manatee will foster social interaction on and off the campus.”  The campus of the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee provides the facilities and the context for intergenerational encounters.  Our members have extensive use of the University library, Einstein Bagels, and may purchase books at the Campus Bookstore at student prices.  The possibilities are many.
