1. Meet the qualifications of the program
a. Complete a bachelor's degree program prior to starting the course sequence (transcripts must state the degree has been awarded). Bachelor's degree must be from a regionally-accredited institution.
b. Complete a bachelor's degree program in a field other than Communication Sciences & Disorders (students should contact the advisor for possible exceptions to this qualification)
c. Not currently a Communication Sciences & Disorders major at USF, or any current undergraduate USF student
Please Note: Effective immediately, all students must have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA. This applies to all students beginning the course sequence summer 2009 and all future semesters.
2. Submit an application to USF
Non-degree application
Must submit online application with $30 application fee
Applications are accepted through the Friday of the first week of classes for each term
(Please contact our Office of Financial Aid for questions about eligibility to
receive aid as a non-degree-seeking student, 941-359-4459).
Please be advised that submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be able to obtain seats in these classes. Our process was developed to provide a fair and equitable registration process, but because of the high demand for these courses, we cannot assure that you will get a seat.
3. Request Permits

5. Orientation Information
Students only taking courses in the Language, Speech & Hearing Sciences Post-Baccalaureate Online Course Sequence are not required to attend New Student Orientation.
6. Registration Process
a. This course sequence is limited access. Even if you have met eligibility and completed steps 1-4, you are not guaranteed seats in the courses.
Due to the high volume of interest in this course sequence, we have initiated a permitting process that takes place the week before classes begin for that particular term. Students already enrolled in the sequence have registration priority and will have registered by this point in time. Any available seats remaining in the courses will then be open to new students.
If you have requested permits, you will be notified by the advisor for the specific day and time your permits will be issued and you can attempt to register.
Please be advised there is a high demand for the few seats available and space is limited. Therefore, at the designated day and time, you will want to make your best attempt to log into OASIS and register for the courses. It is first-come, first-serve on open seats, and everyone that is eligible will be granted permits at the same time.
If the courses fill up prior to your permits being issued, or your attempt at registration, you should continue to monitor the class schedule to see if anyone drops and a seat opens up. The advisors and/or faculty cannot assist you if the classes are full.
