Dr. Jane Rose

As the Dean, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the College of Arts & Sciences, USF Sarasota-Manatee. We are an interdisciplinary community of approximately 70 scholars, bound by a shared commitment to the study of human ideas and experience, critical inquiry, creative expression, and open discourse. We are equally committed to the responsibility of instilling these scholarly skills and values in students. In small classes, we mentor students, challenging them to achieve and fostering their ability to do so. As a result, not only are our faculty active scholars, publishing in respected journals and presenting papers at national conferences; but our students are recognized for their productivity, as well. For example, we are proud, but not surprised, that for the past three years, an undergraduate student from Arts & Sciences, USF Sarasota-Manatee has won top prize at the USF Undergraduate Research Conference.
