Professor Silvia J. Blanco is an Instructor of Social Work at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee.  Professor Blanco holds a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of South Florida (USF) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Leo College, San Antonio, Florida. (more...)Ms. Blanco is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Nurse.

Along with her teaching assignment, Professor Blanco is also a student advisor. Her background includes 17 years as a psychiatric nurse; and, for the past four years she has been an adjunct professor for the School of Social Work at the University of South Florida.

Ms. Blanco was born in Cuba. Her academic interests include cultural diversity, social welfare policy and woman’s studies.
