International Study Abroad

Scholarship Opportunity for USF Sarasota-Manatee Students

The Clyde Nixon International Business Fund is providing a limited number of tuition and travel stipend scholarships for students participating in a study abroad program through the USF College of Business. The fund's purpose is to improve international relations through business. The grants will be competitive and require an interview.

Student Experiences:

Brayan Felipe, Summer 2010 trip to Laval: "My stay at Laval University was unique, and precious to me. We got to visit many companies in the surrounding communities and saw what we learned in class being applied outside-in businesses (the practical side of class...). The professors we had during Summer Business School came from Mexico, U.S., and Canada and they were able to present us with different views of their countries, and how business is conducted inside NAFTA."

Sarah Sherman, Summer 2010 trip to Greece: "By awarding me the Clyde Nixon Scholarship, I am able to focus on the most important aspect of school, learning. I look forward to the cultural experience, and I am inspired to give back to my community and help students achieve their goals just as I have achieved mine."

Eligible Applicants will:

March 15 Application Deadline!

Eligible Applicants will:

· Be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate degree-seeking student at USF Sarasota-Manatee (must have Sarasota-Manatee designated as your home campus

· Be enrolled in the College of Business

· Have completed at least one semester at USF

· Have at least a 3.0 USF GPA and 3.0 overall GPA as an undergraduate or 3.5 as a graduate student

· Be registered for a USF College of Business Study Abroad Program

· Complete their program of study or return the full amount of the scholarship

· Submit, upon return, a formal evaluation of their program

· Attend the Scholarship Reception date TBA

· Exceptions can be considered by the committee
