Terry A. Osborn, Ph.D., is Dean and Professor of the College of Education at the University of South Florida Sarasota Manatee. Dr. Osborn is an internationally-recognized scholar of critical language studies who has published 13 books and 34 articles and chapters, edits 6 academic book series, and was the founding co-editor of the journal Critical Inquiry in Language Studies. His scholarship has received the American Educational Studies Association Critics' Choice Award and the Stephen Freeman Award for the best published article on language teaching techniques. He currently serves as immediate Past President of the International Society for Language Studies and and President of the Language Studies Foundation. His expertise has been sought by universities from Istanbul to Australia and he has been a featured keynote speaker at universities and education conferences in the United States. Dr. Osborn taught public school for six years before serving on the faculties at the City University of New York, the University of Connecticut, and Fordham University.
