Wide Web Options
Require use of the Web for more than 75% of the
coursework. There will be online lectures, discussion groups, assignments,
and submission of assignments.
Online Options:
Instructors will use either Blackboard or Blackboard along with Elluminate
to provide instruction.
myUSF/Blackboard
is the University's academic portal
used for asynchronous delivery of courses. In addition, it provides student
access to email, grades, discussion boards and more.
Elluminate provides a virtual meeting space where instructors and
student groups meet, hear each other and share documentation. It is often
used with online work in a blended course to give students synchronistic
meeting times to accompany their synchronistic online engagement.
Requirements: ~ An active email account and Internet access ~ Working knowledge of Blackboard is required.

Vary from zero to four (4) meetings throughout the course. Meeting dates

Web-Enhanced: Classroom-based courses that require use of the Web for
up to 25% of the coursework. These courses are part face-to-face in the
classroom and part Blackboard-based activities, discussions, and sharing.
Some assignments are submitted electronically.

Polycom Courses
Videoconference courses that allow students and
faculty to see and hear each other at multiple locations in “real-time.”
Locations include all four USF campuses, other Florida Universities, and
selected community sites. These courses are often blended with online
courses.

~ Working knowledge of Blackboard is required.

Telecourses
Courses broadcast on WUSF-TV and the Education
Channel (for Bright House cable subscribers in Hillsborough County), DVDs or
VHS tapes may be rented for the semester or purchased, and many telecourses
are available as video-on-demand using the Internet.

Instructional
Television Courses
ITV courses originate in specially designed classrooms and are received at
other USF campuses (and sometimes at specific off-campus locations) at the
same time or on a tape-delayed basis. This format allows two-way audio,
one-way video communication between originating and receiving sites.
