STRATEGIC GOAL 6: ASSESSING & DEVELOPING THE STANDARDS FOR ENHANCED CAMPUS AUTONOMY THAT COULD SUPPORT CRITERIA FOR CAMPUS ACCREDITATION
Assess the process of accreditation through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) as provided by Florida Statute (S.B. 1162, 2001 Florida Statute 240.5275, Recodified: 2002 Florida Statute 1002.34) and develop the most effective role for USF Sarasota-Manatee within the USF System.
The USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus initiated the process of applying for SACS accreditation in July of 2002. The completion of the pre-accreditation phase is extensively contingent upon resources from the Florida Legislature. This phase requires that the campus conduct a self-study of our capability to meet SACS’ twelve (12) core requirements and our expanded autonomy provided under the terms of the ICAR.
