Undergraduate Transfer Admissions Requirements


  • Applicants must have earned 60+ transferable semester hours or an A.A. degree from the Florida College System, or 45+ transferable semester hours (beginning Fall 2012).
  • Applicants for the Applied Science program must have a completed A.S. degree from the Florida College System and required general education courses.
  • Selective Admissions Programs of Study: USF Sarasota-Manatee requires all transfer applicants to meet the GPA requirements for the following selective admissions programs of study:
Limited Access Programs of Study Minimum Overall Transferrable GPA
College of Business 2.50
College of Education 2.50

A.A. Degree Recipients or 60+ Transferable Hours

Upper-level applicants with an 60+ transferable semester hours or an A.A. degree from a college or community college within the Florida College System will be considered for admission with a 2.0 or higher postsecondary GPA in a non-selective program of study.

You will need to submit the following to be considered for admission:

  • Application for admission
  • Non-refundable $30 application fee
  • Official transcript from each college or university attended* (current up to time of application).
  • Any college or university work that was completed at a non-U.S. institution must be submitted along with a course by course Foreign Credential Evaluation from a Credential Evaluation Service.
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores, if applicable. For more information, see language requirements.

45-59 Transferable Hours (beginning Fall 2012)


All the above requirements as well as:

  • A 2.0 (or 2.5 for limited access programs) transfer GPA on all previous transferable college coursework, in addition to being in good academic standing at the last post-secondary institution attended.
  • Official high school transcript(s)
  • Minimum of a 2.5 unweighted High School GPA
  • Minimum test scores of:
              SAT Critical Reading 460, SAT Mathematics 460, SAT Writing 440

  •           OR 
              ACT Reading 19, ACT Mathematics 19, ACT English/Writing 18
